Prompt response and delivery, and I'm so happy with the cape poncho I bought. Amadora can be trusted blindfolded.
I ordered the white shirt for my mother-in-law. She loved it so much that I ordered it in black too.
I found Amadora while looking for co-ord sets and was so impressed. The fit, the fabric, the customer care and the detailing on the stoles and capes were beyond my expectations. Delivery was quick and the packaging lovely.
The fabric feels amazing and the look is so flattering. Worth every penny.
Perfect for festive-season layering. Stylish, yet traditional.
A head-turner. Elegant, modern and so flattering.
Absolutely loved the co-ord set. It fits like a dream and the fabric is so breathable, perfect for outings and holidays.
The stole adds a touch of luxury to my ethnic outfits. I'm in love.
What people ask us most about shimmer stoles, designer kaftans, and Kashmiri textiles.
A shimmer stole is a lightweight wrap woven or embellished with metallic threads, sequins, or crystal embroidery that catches the light as you move. At Amadora, shimmer stoles are finished with Swarovski-grade crystals and hand-set studs on soft base fabrics — wool, viscose, or blended pashmina. They are styled draped over a saree, layered over a plain kurta or evening gown, or worn as a shawl over western outfits for festive occasions. Because the embellishment is hand-applied, each stole has a slightly different density and placement, making every piece one-of-a-kind.
A designer kaftan is distinguished by its fabric quality, cut, and finish — not just its price. Amadora's kaftans use fabrics sourced from artisan clusters in Jaipur, Lucknow, and Kashmir: printed georgettes, embroidered cotton, Kashmiri wool, and hand-dyed silk blends. Each style is cut to drape rather than cling, with finished seams and hand-finished hems. Amadora kaftans are produced in small quantities — typically 20 to 50 pieces per design — so you are unlikely to see the same piece on someone else. Prices start at ₹3,500 and go up to ₹12,000 depending on the fabric and embellishment level.
A Kashmiri stole is woven or embroidered by artisans in Jammu & Kashmir using techniques passed down across generations. The most valued are made from pashmina — a fine-grade cashmere wool with fibres measuring 12–15 microns, finer than a human hair. Kashmiri stoles are recognised by their craft technique: Sozni needlework (fine thread embroidery visible on both sides), Aari hook embroidery (chain-stitch floral motifs), Kani weave (patterns built into the loom using dozens of small wooden bobbins), or hand-painted Kalamkari. Amadora sources stoles directly from weaver clusters in Srinagar and Jammu, with craft origin cards available on request.
Kalamkari is a hand-painted or block-printed textile technique from Andhra Pradesh, in which natural vegetable dyes are applied to fabric using a bamboo or tamarind-twig pen — the kalam, meaning 'pen' in Persian. Traditional motifs include peacocks, lotuses, paisleys, and scenes from Hindu epics drawn in deep indigo, earthy red, ochre, and black. Amadora's Kalamkari shawls use a pashmina base rather than cotton, making them warmer and softer than typical Kalamkari pieces. Each shawl is hand-painted individually — no two are identical — and the process involves up to 23 steps including mordanting, dyeing, washing, and sun-drying.
A Kani stole is woven on a traditional pit loom in Kashmir using a technique that dates to the Mughal era. The weaver uses dozens of small wooden spools called kanis — each loaded with a different colour thread — to build intricate multi-colour patterns directly into the weave. There is no embroidery added afterwards; every motif is created during the weaving process itself. A standard Kani stole measuring 70 × 200 cm takes between 6 weeks and 6 months to complete depending on pattern complexity. Amadora's Kani pieces are woven in Kanihama village in Kashmir, the craft's historic centre, and each comes with a card identifying the weaver's workshop.
Amadora products range from ₹1,800 for everyday cotton shirts to ₹18,000 for hand-embroidered pure pashmina shawls. Price is determined by the base material (cotton and viscose at the lower end, pure pashmina and handloom wool at the higher end), the embellishment technique (machine print versus hand-embroidery versus Kani or Kalamkari weave), and the production quantity. Crystal-studded stoles are typically ₹3,500–₹8,500. Co-ord sets are ₹3,200–₹7,500. Capes and kaftans range from ₹4,500 to ₹15,000. All prices are in Indian Rupees; international orders are billed at the INR price converted at your bank's rate on the day of purchase.
Crystal-studded and embellished stoles should be dry cleaned only — machine washing loosens the adhesive or thread anchoring the crystals. Between wears, fold the stole with the embellished face inside (not outside) to prevent crystals from snagging other fabrics. Store in the dust bag provided, or in a breathable cotton pouch away from direct sunlight, which can dull crystal shine over time. Plain pashmina and cashmere stoles without embellishment can be hand-washed in cold water with a gentle wool wash. If a crystal falls off after normal wear within 6 months of purchase, contact us on WhatsApp (+91-9004772516) with a photo and we will arrange a free repair or replacement.
